Shanghai Children's Medical Center (SCMC). SCMC is affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine. It is a tertiary Pediatric Hospital integrated with medical care, scientific research and education. Covering an area of 17 acres, the hospital has a capacity of 500 designated medical beds. SCMC was jointly established by Shanghai Municipal People's Government and Project HOPE. Xin Hua Hospital was responsible for the overall preparation and construction of the project. Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation. The Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation, established in 1986, is dedicated to carrying out Madam Soong Ching Ling's life-long cause of improving the lives of the underprivileged women and children of China, promoting the healthy and multi-faceted growth of children, and conducting international exchanges for the same cause.   Working hand-in-hand with the China Welfare Institute founded by Soong Ching Ling, the Foundation has made remarkable progress in these areas in the past 24 years and continues to enhance its efforts.
